How are we able to add non standard piping components to the Piping Specifications? The USERCREATE command will then run a routine. Easy: CADWorx is a plant design AutoCAD®- and and BricsCAD®-based software that uses familiar AutoCAD commands and methodology. You won't find difficult-to-understand proprietary commands within its intuitive interface.
Have you ever opened a CADWorx piping drawing only to find a bunch of center lines where your 3D piping should be? (shown below). Use the CADWorx command CONVERTSOLID to make these single lines display correctly. This tool can also be found on the ribbon at: CADWorx Plant I tab Setup Size/Spec panel “ 3D Solids” tool” (Shown below). Select the objects that you want to display correctly. I used ALL After the tool does its magic, you should see the piping components displayed correctly. One issue that I have noticed on a few drawings is that the next time I open the drawing, I have to run the command again.

Detailed Enhancement List CADWorx fieldPipe Description: In CADWorx fieldPipe you can work directly with large point clouds using CADWorx fieldPipe tools and commands. CADWorx adds simple tools for viewing and working with point cloud data for model creation. CADWorx fieldPipe uses as-built point cloud data – captured by Leica laser scanners – directly within CADWorx Plant Professional. With the laser scanner you can also model piping directly in fieldPipe from any location in the world with a scanner and fieldPipe on location.
You can create 3D as-builts, check designs against existing piping, perform critical construction and fabrication QA, and more all directly with CADWorx fieldPipe. CADWorx fieldPipe incorporates CloudWorx commands enabling you to load a Cyclone ModelSpace View directly from a Cyclone database into AutoCAD 2012 and later. Items Enhanced in CADWorx fieldPipe 2015 Description: Items Enhanced in CADWorx fieldPipe 2014 Description: Items Enhanced in CADWorx fieldPipe 2013 Description. Convert Points into CADWorx Intelligent Components directly With CADWorx fieldPipe 2013, point clouds from Cyclone can be converted into CADWorx components with intelligence included. Complete New Interface CADWorx fieldPipe has had a complete redesign with an all new interface. The interface is similar to that of the CADWorx ribbons and palettes. All fieldPipe commands are available on single palettes for ease of use.
Single-click Modeling on Point Clouds With CADWorx fieldPipe 2013, it is now possible to model piping on a point cloud with a single click. You can edit the point cloud down to a manageable section, select the Routing with elbows or Piping without elbows command, and then click a point in the point cloud.
FieldPipe then adds the CADWorx component with intelligence based on the PRJ file you selected. Enhanced Functionality for Speed, Accuracy, and Usability CADWorx fieldPipe 2013 includes enhanced functionality that makes the product faster and easier to use.
Enhanced modeling means you can model a small section of piping with a reducer, a tee, seven pipes, and a valve in less than a minute. Automatic Routing With Routing with elbows, it is possible to route pipes on the point cloud. For example, if you have piping connected with elbows in the point cloud you could use this command. The piping adds, and then, when you press ENTER, the elbows add automatically. Piping without elbows With Piping without elbows, you can convert singular pieces of pipe to CADWorx intelligent components. For example, you have a singular pipe not connected by an elbow, (maybe it is connected with a reducer or a tee) you would use this command to place the CADWorx intelligent component. Automatically Connect two pipes With this command it is possible to connect any of the piping done in Routing with elbows or Piping without elbows with a Tee, Cross, or Reducer.
Run the command, and then select the two pipes. The direction of the pipe or the size of the pipe determines which connecting component places in the drawing.
Manually Connect two pipes With this command it is possible to connect any of the piping done in Routing with elbows or Piping without elbows with a Tee, Cross, or Reducer. Run the command, and then select the two pipes. A prompt displays asking which component you need to insert. This command helps when you want to place a different component on the point cloud other than the existing one. Connect Pipes with elbows With Connect Pipes with elbows, any pipe created using Pipe without elbows can be connected with this command. This can be helpful when adding new sections or piping additional sections of the point cloud.
Inserting a Valve For fieldPipe 2013, you can insert a valve based on the length of the valve in the point cloud. Select the Insert a valve by spec length, follow the prompts to measure from flange to flange, and the valve inserts. If you receive a list of valve sizes, then one or more valves are available for that size. Incorporation of CloudWorx CloudWorx has been incorporated directly into the CADWorx fieldPipe ribbon.
All functionality of the CloudWorx program can work directly with the point clouds in CADWorx fieldPipe 2013. Total Station Interface Enhancements.
Model Real-time Pipe With the enhancements made to the Total Station interfacing in CADWorx fieldPipe, it is possible to now model piping in real time out in the field. Setup your Total Station, follow the process to situate the total station in the space, orient it to the piping, and then shoot the piping with the Start routing pipes or Model one pipe options. These commands, when finished, insert CADWorx intelligent components into the drawing. Enhancements of Original Functionality It is still possible to connect pipes, insert valves, insert flanges, measure anchor points, and find the center.
However, these items have been improved to automatically display in the drawing in real time. Once the component is shot in the physical space the component appears in the drawing.
All functions such as stakeout, resection, measuring distance between points, measuring distance to the station, and so on have been kept in the program. However Intergraph CADWorx redeveloped these functions with input from customers to improve the overall usability and accuracy of the product.
